Alfredo Gomez was born in 1964 in Guadalajara, Mexico's second largest city with a rich history of art and culture. He began painting at age 15 and enjoyed his first public exhibition at age 20.  As a self-taught artist, Gomez studied the Old Masters as well as the techniques of his contemporaries. He is dedicated to the traditional principles of art, devloping his style which is best described as Romantic Realism. He draws inspiration from the beauty of nature and his culture, including rural and urban landscapes of Mexico, still-lifes of luscious fruits, and breathtaking seascapes of his adoped home of southern Caifornia. No matter his subject, Gomez captures it with warm, luminous realism. Alfredo’s paintings are full of passion and invite the viewer to pause and savor the beauty.

Alfredo Gomez has had many one-man shows as well as group shows in Mexico, the U.S. and Japan and his art is collected widely across the globe. He has won various awards and has repeatedly exhibited in museums including the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City and the Museum of Monterrey, Mexico.
