Cristina Joia
Artist Statement
"I am concerned about the idea of inner an outer landscape of the human body.
I'm creating places for meditations, thoughts and emotions, opening a path toward a deeper penetration of multiple layers of reality.
Signs, Marks -the skin of the painting - trying to find that line between the hidden interior of things and the exterior that we experience, expanding the limit of what we understand as surface, reflecting the convergence of natural and artificial life.
The resulting image becomes regular and irregular, organic and technological.
Metallic gardens- celebrating the silence and the memory of conscience."
